Juila's Birthday Party

If anyone knows Julia, you know that at anytime, anytime you may catch this girl in her swimming suit. So it was perfect for her to have a Luau Party.

Especially since her birthday is on Christmas Day. She asked for a Rudolph-the-Red-Nosed Reindeer Cake. Had fun making that!

When the girls got there we made flowers for their hair. Then Emily led the girls in Hula Lessons.

Followed by some coconut bowling and the limbo.

I made Strawberry Daiquiri's for the girls and topped them off with umbrellas. Julia is a pro.

Rebecca's First Birthday!!! Let the Circus Begin!

Photobucket
Shawn would say I went "over board", but I would say that "I had a ton of fun" with Rebecca's First Birthday! Decorations were great, Games were fun, Food Awesome, the Cake was absolutely AMAZING, and most importantly everyone including the Birthday Girl had a Blast! Decorations were simple, my Mom and I made over 50 pinwheels. My Mom even put some of them on sticks so we could zip-tie them to deck. She did a great job. We set up the Body Boppers, Ring Toss, Bowling, Goldfish Toss, Bean Bag Toss and the Bouncer. We had some talented Mom's and Grandma's Step in and Help with the Face Painting. I tried to get as many as I could over to the photo booth. We had Corn Dogs, pasta salad, Watermelon, Lemonade, Popcorn, Cupcakes, and my very talented Sister-in-Law Carissa made Rebecca's Cake! I could gush over this whole day. It was so nice to have our family and friends celebrate Rebecca's Birthday! Well enough of me gabbing, just look at the pics and get a feel for the kind of day we had!!!

Oh and here are a few videos of the Body Boppers in action. They are so much fun. I know we will use them again and again.

This is the Girls testing them out when we first got them!

I couldn't help myself, so here's Emily and I!

Here is Miss S and Miss I having fun!

and I'm pretty proud of Miss Em holding her own with Miss S

Lost Count of our Summer Days...

So it's about time, I posted, instead of blog stalking, which I'm getting good at. I probably shouldn't be calling it blog stalking, maybe peeking...there are just so many awesome blogs, in the blogging world. Enough of that, okay I've lost track. We've been having so much fun. And to top it off, my Mom just got here last Monday and we've been running from one thing to another. I also uploaded my pics, and it's been entertaining to say the least. I love it (sometimes), when the kids get the camera.

This is Juju's Mouth...(I think she was getting ready for the dentist),

and Miss Em's Nose
It's always fun to see what they like to take pics of.

We stayed up late and had Root Beer Floats!

We've gone Raspberry Picking, Jumped on Trampolines and have tried to suck in every last day of summer.

We've tried to get all the back to school stuff done and out of the way before Grandma G arrived.

Doctors appointments,

Dentist appointments,

school supplies,

and my fave with back to school, the clothes shopping, (can you tell it's not JuJu's)

Which I did a bunch online. Emily needed a new back pack and I kept putting off the "checking out" part of the shopping cart at Lands End...so we missed out on the colour she wanted. But I had a tah dah moment. I still had my backpack from high school, which I have to say is still in great shape. I know it's navy blue, but we made it her own and she is really happy with it. So am I, it only cost $1.25 for the Owl Iron on and then I had the rest at home from my scrap pile. She is so totally sold that it is a one of a kind.

We have also been getting ready for Becca's birthday party.

This is our Photo Booth. I know I've gone a little overboard, but I am so excited to do this one. And like I said earlier, there are so many blogs that are awesome you have to check out this one. Awesome party ideas! This summer with the new love of Teletoon Retro, the girls are totally into Super Heroes! So we are planning our Halloween Costumes already. I'm not saying anything yet, but I think you can tell what one of the girls will be from this self portrait.

We also had Whoop Up Days this past week but that needs a special post all of its own.

Emily's Birthday Party

This has been a work in progress for quite some time.  We've had the theme picked out for awhile and slowly Emily and I have been getting things ready for her party.  The them was the 50's.  It started off with Emily wanting to go bowling and it just spiraled.  It was so much fun.
I made poodle skirts for the girls and t-shirts for the boys.

Emily's skirt was extra special with a little sparkle.

I used old 45's for the invitations, and made a personalized record label for the invites.

"Hey all you T-Birds & Pink Ladies!
Emily is turning 7 and is hopelessly devoted to you being there!
So grease back your hair Boys!  Put on your poodle skirts Girls!
Because it's time for some Rockin' Sock Hop Birthday Fun!"

Refreshments were easy.
Shawn's amazing chocolate milkshakes, strawberries, and cupcakes that looked like records (kind of).

We went bowling at Holiday.

Then came back to our place and had a hula hoop contest, bubble gum blowing, the twist, and a drag race.  And of course we did the limbo.  Which the kids loved doing so much we did it twice.

It was great to have Grandma Ormston there, Aunt Bonnie, Uncle Luke, Auntie Carissa, Uncle Kyle and Auntie Karyn.  They were extra judges and helping hands.  Thank you.

Julia was such a good helper too with the decorating and set up.

I feel really blessed to have such amazing kids.
They are such good sports, I hope they are enjoying this as much as I am.

I also feel so blessed to have Spencer!

Here's a video of the kids doing the limbo.

And I totally had to post this one of Emily's little friend.  She does such an awesome job hula hooping.

I have so many more pictures and videos but don't want to bore you! LOL!
