Summer Day 9

It was rainy again today.

But on the sunny side

I was able to get tickets for the Jason Mraz concert in Calgary.
I am so excited. The concert isn't till October. But it should be fun.

Today we made cookies

and Spencer helped the girls do headstands, not handstands.

We played music loud and danced. What else can you do when it's crummy outside.

Shawn got home this afternoon from Arizona. We are so happy to have him home!

Summer Day 8

It was time to take advantage of the good weather. There hasn't been much this week.
I got the girls dolled up and we took some pics at Henderson.
I was hoping to get some shots for Rebecca's Room. We had a few turn out.

We followed picture taking with a picnic and time at the new park.
After we came home, the girls played on their bikes.

Julia needed a basket, so a drill, 1 smarties ice cream bucket and 2 zip ties later
we had a basket for her bike.

We went for a ride around the lake and the girls were able to bring their puppies.

The sprinklers were on at the lake. We ran and biked threw them really fast.

And we had to throw a couple of rocks in the water!

Grandma O invited us to their ward picnic. So back to the park we went. The girls had so much fun today.
It made bedtime so much easier. They crashed fast!

Summer Day 7

Today we thrifted. We were looking for pioneer clothes for Rebecca and Emily.
We also scored on some tupperware and this awesome mirror.
I am going to spray paint the mirror orange for Rebecca's Room.

Emily went for a haircut! Yes we had it all chopped off. It is super cute and great for the summer.

Hopefully there will be no more screaming and gnashing of teeth
when it's time for her hair to be brushed!
She drew a picture of her getting her hair cut at Beaners.

All the yellow on the bottom of the page is her hair that was cut off. There was a ton!

Summer Day 6

Today was Rainy and Gross! But we made the best of it. The girls played games, crafted, and watched cartoons.
Emily really likes her new game, Cadoo.

We also ran some errands this morning before it got really wet. We were playing make believe and Emily was pretending to be a Unicorn. So I decided to make Emily her very own Unicorn horn. She loved it.
This girl has quite the imagination. I love that about her!

I made one for Julia, she was not as excited but we put it on Rebecca and got a little chuckle out of it.

Side note yesterday we made some countdown chains. One for when Daddy gets back and One for Grandma G.
She is coming to see us in August! Can't wait for you to come Grandma G!

Primary Talk and Scripture

On Sunday the girls both had assignments in Primary.
Julia had her first talk and Emily was assigned to read a scripture.
They did a great job.
Emily read Moroni 7:35 all by herself.
And Julia had memorized most of her talk.
It was called "What Makes You Smile".
It's from an old issue of the Friend.
I had cut it out and laminated it for her after we received the issue.
She loved this little book.
So I thought it was perfect for her talk. I enlarged each image and she held them up and recited each page. It was cute.
They both did awesome. But I am their Mom!
