Summer Day 1

First Day of Summer Vacation was AWESOME! Emily still was up nice and early.
After breakfast and getting ready for the day.

We had some craft time!
Pearler Beads! Sweet!
Look at all the goodies we made!

Then off to the Spray Park and hanging with some friends!

Emily found a snail in the creek.

We had a great day and my favourite part was the afternoon nap!

Saturday

I can't even remember what we did on Saturday. It's all a blur. I only have a few pics, and a couple of videos from that day. I'm trying to jog my memory, but it's no good. I remember now. It was just a chill day. I went for a run in the morning and the girls played quietly and nicely for the most part, Shawn had a baptism to go to and then when he got home we went to the Library. On the way home Sobey's had advertised on their outside board chocolate milk for 50cents a litre. Shawn, went in and came out with 15 cartons of chocolate milk.
We froze some and kept 2 in the fridge.

The kids played on the plasma car, and sure enough Shawn joined in.
Here are a few videos of the 3 kids and the Plasma Car.

The big Kid had some issues! LOL

After some Plasma fun we chilled and had some dinner.
I made Bento Boxes for the kids for dinner.

They loved them.

I totally have to thank my friend Amie for introducing me to them. It really helps with making sure the kids get a variety of foods, fruits and veggies, all the yummy stuff.

Swap This!

I am so excited to do this. I've heard of these swap things and have always wanted to do one. They look like so much fun. I've already figured out which 3 things I am going to swap. I'll take pics and let you know how it goes. If you want to participate in the swap click on the favorite things swap button.

Blondes Have More Fun!

I had to post pics!  I went and had my hair done at the school here in town.  They did a really good job.  I think so.  Don't ask Shawn though.  He's not sure about the colour, and the shape of the haircut reminds him of some kind of dog.  He tried back tracking out of that comment.  It didn't go to well.  But what matters most is I like it.  And Emily is excited that we match now!

The Last Day of Gr 1

Today was FINALLY the last day of School!  I have been looking forward to the Summer Break FOREVER!

Julia and I decorated the car to go pick Emily up from school.  It was pretty fun!

Emily had the best teacher ever!  We loved her so much.

I can't believe how quickly Gr. 1 went.  They grow up too fast!

Today

Julia has two favourite things she loves to wear. 1st her swimsuit, she wears it everywhere 2nd dresses. She changes about 100 times a day, which drives me crazy. She is always trying to put on one of her sunday dresses, but I don't want them to get wrecked. So I hung this dress up in her closet,

hoping she would want to wear it. No such luck. "It's not fancy enough!"
So this afternoon, I decided to "Fancy" it up.

I had Julia try it on after I had the little apron on. It was a huge hit. I still needed to put the flowers on

but she wouldn't take off the dress. Eventually I persuaded her, I think with a piece of gum.
And here it is all done.

Fancy + Smiling = Priceless

Picnic and Ice Cream Cake

On Saturday we went for a picnic.  The weather was so great we had take advantage of it!
The girls played at the park and Rebecca, Shawn and I chilled on the blanket.

On Sunday we celebrated Father's Day and Emily's B-day.  When Shawn was getting ready for church, I said to him "7 years ago today, you officially became a DAD!"  So weird to think!  We are so blessed.  We enjoyed a delicious blizzard cake from Dairy Queen!  On one half it said "Happy Birthday Emily!"  in Pink, the other half "Happy Father's Day"  in Blue.  Becca really enjoyed the cake.  And Emily made a great wish!  She won't tell.

My parents called and sang her happy Birthday over the Phone!  Emily was blushing!  Too Cute!

Emily's Birthday Party

This has been a work in progress for quite some time.  We've had the theme picked out for awhile and slowly Emily and I have been getting things ready for her party.  The them was the 50's.  It started off with Emily wanting to go bowling and it just spiraled.  It was so much fun.
I made poodle skirts for the girls and t-shirts for the boys.

Emily's skirt was extra special with a little sparkle.

I used old 45's for the invitations, and made a personalized record label for the invites.

"Hey all you T-Birds & Pink Ladies!
Emily is turning 7 and is hopelessly devoted to you being there!
So grease back your hair Boys!  Put on your poodle skirts Girls!
Because it's time for some Rockin' Sock Hop Birthday Fun!"

Refreshments were easy.
Shawn's amazing chocolate milkshakes, strawberries, and cupcakes that looked like records (kind of).

We went bowling at Holiday.

Then came back to our place and had a hula hoop contest, bubble gum blowing, the twist, and a drag race.  And of course we did the limbo.  Which the kids loved doing so much we did it twice.

It was great to have Grandma Ormston there, Aunt Bonnie, Uncle Luke, Auntie Carissa, Uncle Kyle and Auntie Karyn.  They were extra judges and helping hands.  Thank you.

Julia was such a good helper too with the decorating and set up.

I feel really blessed to have such amazing kids.
They are such good sports, I hope they are enjoying this as much as I am.

I also feel so blessed to have Spencer!

Here's a video of the kids doing the limbo.

And I totally had to post this one of Emily's little friend.  She does such an awesome job hula hooping.

I have so many more pictures and videos but don't want to bore you! LOL!

Sunday At the Park

Sunday afternoon, after a very long nap we walked over to the park for some play time.  We were so nervous that it was going to rain.  The clouds did not look good but we just had to go.
Here is a pic of Becca on the swing!

See those big clouds behind her and that gray sky!

Julia's Hair

I don't know if you noticed Julia's hair in the post before.  It's a little shorter!  She got a hold of a pair of scissors and snip snip.  I knew she would be the one to cut her own hair or someone else's.  Shawn asked her why she cut her hair, "It's in the way" she said very matter of fact.  Gotta love her and we do.
